Bridging the Gaps Project Manager & Research Development Manager (NERC) RKT

Role

Helen is the project manager for Bridging the Gaps: the Exeter Science Exchange a cross-disciplinary project funded by a £500k award from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

Helen is also the Research and Development Manager leading on the University’s interactions with the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), and supports the Climate Change and Sustainable Futures Science Strategy Theme and the University-Met Office partnership.

Profile

Helen joined the University in October 2010 after working as a project facilitator for the Peninsula Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (PenCLAHRC), based at the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry.

Prior to this, Helen spent nine years working for the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) in a variety of roles, including managing NERC’s Peer Review College.

Helen has a PhD in marine microbial ecology and in a previous life carried out research on lake ecosystems in Antarctica.
