Contract Research and Consultancy Officer

Role

Jess works in the contract research and consultancy team.  This involves supporting academics and colleges with the development and management of research projects with business and government to ensure the effective collaboration of organisations and academics.

Profile

Jess joined the University in February 2006 organising business events and working as the Business Account Manager focussing on SMEs. 

Prior to this Jess studied for an accountancy degree and then spent valuable time fundraising for several small and large charities, and then worked as a careers adviser for adults which involved time working on government projects including helping those on long term benefits to gain experience in the working world, and working with businesses in the South West and their staff’s career development. 

Jess has recently had her second child. Her interests, when she has any spare time free from her daughters, include cooking, yoga, her allotment and garden, and (much to her dismay) cars!
