Role
Jodie's role is to build relationships between businesses in Cornwall and the University’s Environment & Sustainability Institute. The aim is to identify opportunities for collaborative research in the ESI’s three themes related to environmental change:
- The Natural Environment
- Clean Technology
- Socio-economic impacts
Jodie is responsible for delivering the “business assist”, economic growth and job creation targets set against the ESI by its funders including the ERDF Convergence partnership, and for securing and managing partnerships with stakeholders, public sector and other Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) academic institutions which support the ESI’s objectives.
Profile
Before taking up the post of Knowledge Exchange Manager for the ESI, Jodie worked as a Research Fellow for PRIMaRE. During her post with PRIMaRE she developed and undertook research exploring stakeholder perceptions and acceptability of marine renewable energy. In 2008 Jodie completed her PhD at the University of Exeter. Her thesis focused on the impact of society and worldviews on stakeholder acceptability of renewable energy. Prior to her PhD, Jodie worked for the Devon Association for Renewable Energy as a Project Manager. Within this role Jodie was responsible for delivering a number of renewable energy projects and training events, in addition to securing funding for research and development.
