Role

Ruth Stansfield manages Research and Knowledge Transfer's (RKT) external funding portfolio which comprises a number of external projects from a range of funders including:

• Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE),
• European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

External funding is used to support new initiatives and academics working with business on interdisciplinary projects.

Ruth is responsible for the monitoring, regulation and reporting on these externally funded projects  and for all of RKT's budgets to enable strategic financial decision making, analysis and management of financial risks and optimisation of the use of the many different funding streams.

Ruth is also responsible for collating data for the HE Business and Community Interaction Survey on behalf of the University.

Profile

Ruth has been at the University for 13 years and has worked in a variety of roles for departments including Research Accounting, Business Relations and Enterprise Development.

Prior to joining the University Ruth worked for five years as an Internal Auditor for a number of local authorities in the South West.

She also has worked for companies in  the motor, retail and telecommunications industries in a financial and administrative role.

She is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians.
