European Research Manager

Role

Sam is the first point of contact for the College of Life and Environmental Sciences and the College of Humanities for EU research funding opportunities.

The role involve dissemination of EU funding opportunities and training across the University, contributing to and advising on the preparation of EU research funding proposals, including budget preparation and ensuring compliance with the legal, financial and administrative aspects of the specific call type.

For successful funding applications Sam also negotiates the contract with the European Commission and provides ongoing advice to grant holders on their EU projects.

Profile

Sam joined the University in 2007, providing database and administrative support for the University’s 2008 Research Assessment Exercise submission. After the submission she joined the EU research team. Sam holds an MSc in Biological Diversity from the University of Plymouth.
