Exeter Science Park

The development of the world class Exeter Science Park is one of the most significant investments into South West England’s rapidly expanding knowledge economy. This landmark development is being driven by an extremely strong partnership of Devon County Council, East Devon District Council, Exeter City Council, the Met Office, South West Regional Development Agency and the University of Exeter. The Innovation Centre

The University of Exeter Innovation Centre brings together knowledge-based organisations from the public and private sectors for the benefit of Exeter and its region, by creating an innovative and vibrant community of diverse sectors and networks and an environment for knowledge-based and high-tech ventures to flourish.

The Centre is the flagship of the Innovation Exeter initiative, a partnership between public and private sectors that provides a strong link between other Centres and the Exeter Science park project.

The Centre works in collaboration with our stakeholders, networks and clients with the aim to facilitate the application, transfer and exploitation of knowledge, technology and expertise. Read more on the Innovation Centre website.

South West RDA

The South West RDA leads the development of a sustainable economy in South West England, investing to unlock the region’s business potential. The University works closely with the SWRDA on a number of projects including Innovation Exeter, Exeter Science Park and development of The Innovations Centres in Exeter and Tremough. Universities SW (formerly HERDA SW)

Universities South West (formerly HERDA-SW) is the regional higher education association for South West England. It represents a strong partnership of universities and higher education institutions working together to influence and shape opportunity in a creative and dynamic region. USW’s vision is to position Universities South West and higher education at the centre of a socially, economically and culturally enriched South West region transformed by innovation, embracing academic excellence and diversity.

The University of Exeter works closely with USW on a number of collaborative projects including Graduates for Business, Higher Levels Skills and Knowledge Escalator. Read more on the Universities SW website.

Great Western Research

Great Western Research (GWR) a £14m collaboration between the Universities of Exeter, Bath and Bristol is funded by HEFCE and was awarded in 2006.

It has set about promoting collaborations between the highest quality research groups in the South West and the most forward thinking businesses in order to support the growth of the region and demonstrate just what is possible when HEIs and business collaborate. Many of the projects funded have attracted international interest and recognition due to their leading edge research and breakthroughs in commercial, medical, scientific and environmental applications.
