Proof of Concept Fund

Up to £15,000

This scheme is designed to support a relatively short term undertaking either with or without a commercial partner to advance commercialisation of existing or new intellectual property (IP).  This support could be used to demonstrate commercial application of University IP making it more attractive as a licensing or spin-out proposition or assist with a pilot study which would demonstrate the feasibility of co-development with a commercial partner.

Projects should have a realistic prospect of one of the following:

• add value to existing IP
• a licensing opportunity
• a spin out opportunity
• co-development of IP with a commercial partner

Expenditure will need to be evidenced and the approval will be made through RKT and the College. A minimum of a final report and possible interim reports will be required.
