Overview
I am responsible for the strategic development and coordination of our Exeter Research Networks (ERN) initiative. ERN are a key part of the Research and Innovation theme in Strategy 2030. They represent key strengths at the University and enable agile collective research groupings to develop quickly in response to changing imperatives and opportunities. Exeter Research Networks are virtual and enable dispersed researchers to be brought together where we enjoy critical mass in thematic areas across our campuses, faculties and Institutes.
I was previously a Research Development Manager (RDM) supporting academics on the Cornwall campus with the development of research grant applications. This included advising on the fit of research to particular funding calls, providing feedback on applications, costings and submission of applications to funders.
Prior to joining the University of Exeter in May 2016 I worked as an RDM at the University of Reading supporting academics in the Faculty of Science. Previous positions include time at BBSRC managing the peer review process for managed mode funding calls and a secondment to BIS (now BEIS) working in the ESRC sponsor team and supporting policy work for Open Access and Open Research Data.
