Overview

Marijke joined the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) in October 2019 as Trial Coordinator for the ERICA trial (Electronic Risk Assessments for early Cancer diagnosis). Before joining the CTU, Marijke worked on a number of research projects within the Graduate School of Education at the University of Exeter for Prof Debra Myhill, including Grammar for Writing and Transforming Transitions.

The ERICA trial is a large pragmatic cluster randomised controlled trial of electronic Risk Assessment Tools (eRATs) for cancer in general practice, examining their clinical and cost effectiveness. Marijke's main role is working with the research team to recruit 530 general practices onto the trial. She also manages the administrative aspects of the clinical trial and provides support for the Prinicipal Investigator and Trial Manager.
