Overview
Nicola is the Manager of the Living Systems Institute where she works with the Institute Director and Management Team to collaboratively develop and deliver the strategic aims of the Institute.
Nicola joined the University of Exeter in 2016 as a Project Manager in Biosciences before moving to Innovation Impact and Business in 2018. As Partnership Development Manager for Environmental Bioeconomy, she can advise on commercial queries and project development.
Prior to joining Exeter, Nicola worked as a researcher and project manager in both industry and government organisations. Her experience includes research and development at Unilever’s Port Sunlight laboratories and 10 years as a Senior Research Scientist specialising in water quality and environmental pollution at CSIRO Land and Water in Sydney, Australia. Nicola was the environment lead for Nanosafety research at CSIRO and taught on the Environmental Chemistry course at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) for several years.
Nicola has a BSc in Chemistry and a PhD in Environmental Microbiology both from King’s College London.
