Overview

Paul works as an Administrator (Data and Information), working within the Business Support Team and the Performance, Policy and Impact team for Research Services, as well as additionally helping Innovation, Impact and Business (IIB) and the Impact and Engaged Research Network.

Paul’s work involves updating data and information for these teams, including the use of T4, iEngage and PAC systems, supporting colleagues within the directorate, helping to organise Research Monitoring meetings and supporting aspects surrounding research and impact. Paul uses a range of software that includes Excel and MS Word. Paul is also adept in public speaking and dealing with customers and clients on a one to one basis.

Associate fellow of the HEA (2009)
PhD English - University of Exeter (2012)
PGCE - University of Plymouth (2014)

Career

Paul began working at the Exeter University in July 2016.

Prior to this Paul worked within various retail sectors, engaging in customer service and as an administration assistant in the civil service. More recently he worked as a lecturer in Film and Video, teaching FE and HE students.

Paul graduated in Film Studies from Southampton Solent in 1998 and undertook an MA in Film at the University of Exeter, graduating in 2007. He subsequently completed his PhD at Exeter in 2012, which explored visual effects and compositing. He continues to undertake research in the field of Film Studies, particularly exploring the area of visual effects and their impact on cinema. Paul also holds a PGCE and is an Associate fellow of the HEA.
