Amartya Sen is a Nobel Prizewinning economist and Lamont University Professor and Professor of Economics and Philosophy at Harvard University. He is also an honorary graduand of the University of Exeter. Professor Sen will be speaking on "The Future of Multiculturalism".

Lord Stern of Brentford

Wednesday March 12th, Peter Chalk Newman A

Lord Stern of Brentford is best known as the head of the highly influential Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change. He is currently IG Patel Professor of Economics at LSE and an honorary graduand of the University of Exeter. Lord Stern will be speaking on "Towards a Global Deal on Climate Change".

Sir Richard Dearlove

Monday May 19th, Peter Chalk Newman A

Sir Richard Dearlove served as Chief (known as ‘C’) of the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) from August 1999 until his retirement in July 2004. Sir Richard took up Mastership of Pembroke College Cambridge in October 2004 and is also Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge University as well as an honorary graduand of the University of Exeter. Sir Richard will be speaking on "National Security for the 21st Century: new threats and new approaches".

Professor Dame Carol Black

Tuesday June 10th, Xfi Lecture Theatre

Professor Dame Carol Black is the first National Director for Health and Work. In addition, she has been elected as Chair of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and appointed Chair of the Nuffield Trust. She is a former President of the Royal College of Physicians. Professor Dame Carol Black's research background is in Systemic Sclerosis. Her unit at the Royal Free Hospital became the major centre for clinical care and research in Europe and is internationally renowned. Professor Dame Carol Black is an honorary graduand of the University of Exeter. Professor Dame Carol Black will be speaking on "Working for a healthier tomorrow: a Review of the health of Britain's working age population".
