Professor Tim Coles

Centre Director

Tim is a professor in the University of Exeter Business School where he is currently the Director of Research Students and responsible for the postgraduate (masters) training programmes in tourism. He has published widely on the subject of tourism and travel, he edits two book series on the topic and sits on the editorial board of five major international peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Stewart Barr

Centre Deputy Director

Stewart is Senior Lecturer in Geography in the College of Life and Environmental Sciences. His research focuses on sustainable development and human dimensions of climate change in a travel and tourism context. He has recently undertaken projects funded by the ESRC, DEFRA and British Academy that have explored the relationships between tourism, mobility and climate change and the ways in which individuals and households respond to calls to adopt 'sustainable lifestyles'. He is currently supervising ten PhD students in the broad fields of sustainability and tourism and is programme director for the University's MSc in Sustainable Development. Emily is located in the Business School where she has been an Associate Research Fellow on an ESRC-funded Business Engagement Scheme. She is currently working on her PhD in Management which focuses on corporate social responsibility in travel and tourism. She is currently seconded to provide dedicated support to the centre, and is available by email
