Academic paper published on Centre research
An academic paper has been published using data from the CASE Studentship project on the Devon Active Villages programme.
The paper was published in BMC Public Health, volume twelve, and is now available online at http://www.biomedcentral.com/1471-2458/12/581/abstract. It was written by Emma Solomon, Tim Rees, Obioha C. Ukoummune, and Melvyn Hillsdon.
PhD researcher and lead author of the paper, Emma Solomon, said, ‘We believe this study protocol paper has a lot to offer to the academic community. The study design we are using is novel and has never been used to evaluate a physical activity intervention before. In spite of the lack of precedence, we’ve had good success using these methods and we believe they could be useful for other studies as well.’
The CASE Studentship is funded through the ESRC and is a joint partnership between the Centre for Sport, Leisure and Tourism Research and Active Devon. More information about the project can be found here.
