Destination of Leavers in Higher Education (DLHE) 2011/12 Survey Underway

Strategic Planning are working with Employability and Graduate Development (EGD) to analyse the destination of recent graduates.  Telephone, email and postal surveys are currently underway to contact all graduates.

All students who were awarded a HE qualification between 1st August 2011 and 31st July 2012 are being surveyed to identify their current circumstances, be it employment/unemployment, further study, travel etc.

As surveying steps up in intensity between January and February 2013, the team will regularly monitor the responses received to give an early indication of our positive destination score, which is one of the University’s 10 KPIs (Graduate Employment) and features as a metric within university league table publications.

In addition, we will be keeping a close eye on the DLHE response rate to ensure that we meet the threshold targets set by HESA – this includes an 80% response rate from UK domiciled, first degree, full time students.

Last year the 2010/11 UK domiciled, first degree, full time cohort attained a positive destination (those who are either in graduate level employment or further study) of 74.6% . The full range of Exeter graduate destinations is shown below:
