Risk Management
Risk Management is central to good governance and effective strategic management. It is used to evaluate opportunities that may benefit the University (upside risk) as well as managing things that could have an adverse impact (downside risk). In addition, we are required to demonstrate to HEFCE (the Higher Education Funding Council for England) that we have in place effective procedures for managing risk at all levels.
Overall responsibility for risk management is held by the Vice Chancellors Executive Group (VCEG). Risk was previously overseen by the Risk Governance Committtee, which was formally stood down in October 2011.
