Strategic Planning

Risk Management Committee

The Risk Management Committee (RMC) is responsible for overseeing the University's approach to performance and risk management.

There are two closely-related strands to this work. Firstly, the Group monitors the University's approach to managing and controlling the various risks that have been identified, and maintains the Risk Registers (Risk Management - Fundamental risks, Risk Management - Fundamental secondary, and Risk Management - Fundamental emerging) for the University. Having an effective risk-management strategy, at all levels, is an important part of governance and management, and forms a key part of the agreement with the funding council HEFCE.

Secondly, the RMC monitors the University's performance, using a range of Performance Indicators and Key Performance Indicators (PIs and KPIs).

The risk process is outlined in this Risk Management Flow diagram.

The RMC is chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Resources) and reports to Council.
