Job Opportunities

The University advertises all vacancies on the University web site and details can be found on the Job vacancy website

Within the Tremough campus, vacancies can arise for posts within Tremough Campus Services, a company jointly owned by University College Falmouth and University of Exeter in Cornwall. These vacancies will be advertised across both institutions.

Within PCMD, vacancies can arise for posts whose employer will either be the University of Exeter or the University of Plymouth. These vacancies are advertised across both institutions.

Performance Development Review (PDR)

It has been agreed that all staff should receive an annual Performance Development Review (PDR).  Details of the purpose of PDR and what is involved can be found on the Learning & Development web pages.

Staff volunteering and Community Challenges

Did you know that as a member of staff, the University will allow teams a paid day to undertake volunteering in the community?  This is known as a Community Challenge and you can incorporate it into a team-building exercise as a department.  See the Learning and development pages for more information.

Staff Learning & Development

Part of Human Resources, SLD ’s primary purpose is to design and implement university-wide training and development systems and programmes. Much of the work of the Unit is geared to helping the University meet its commitments as good employer by ensuring that training needs are identified and provision is in place to meet organisational as well individual needs. This means that we work closely with specialist internal and external providers to design programmes to meet specific requirements.

Find out who to contact on the Staff Learning & Development website or by contacting the SLD Administrator.  Details of training providers and courses can be also be found on the SLD web pages.

Tuition Refund Scheme

The Tuition Refund Scheme provides a means for financially supporting staff wishing to be considered for courses leading to further qualifications.

The TRS should be used for new courses leading to qualification. It is expected that consideration for training of this nature will normally be considered through the Performance and Development Review (PDR). Further information can be found on the Human Resources web pages under Tuition Refund Scheme.
