Job opportunities
The University advertises all vacancies on the University website (for all campuses). Further information about applying to the University can be found on the How to apply webpage.
Within the Cornwall Campus, vacancies can also arise for posts within Tremough Campus Services, a company jointly owned by University College Falmouth and University of Exeter in Cornwall. These vacancies will be advertised across both institutions.
Within PCMD, vacancies can arise for posts whose employer will either be the University of Exeter or the University of Plymouth. These vacancies are advertised across both institutions.
Performance Development Review (PDR)
All staff should receive an annual Performance Development Review (PDR). Details of the purpose of PDR and what is involved can be found on the learning and development webpages.
Staff volunteering and Community Challenges
Did you know that as a member of staff, the University will allow teams a paid day to undertake volunteering in the community? This is known as a Community Challenge and you can incorporate it into a team-building exercise as a department. See the Community challenges webpages for more information.
Learning and development
Part of Human Resources, Staff Learning and Development’s primary purpose is to design and implement University-wide training and development systems and programmes. Much of our work is geared to helping the University meet its commitments as a good employer by ensuring that training needs are identified and provision is in place to meet organisational as well individual needs. This means that we work closely with specialist internal and external providers to design programmes to meet specific requirements.
- Details of training providers and courses can be also be found on the Staff Learning and Development website

Tuition refund scheme
The Tuition Refund Scheme provides a means for financially supporting University staff who wish to be considered for courses leading to further qualifications.
The TRS should be used for new courses leading to qualification. It is expected that consideration for training of this nature will normally be considered through the Performance and Development Review (PDR). Further information can be found on the Human Resources webpages under Tuition Refund Scheme.
