Annual Pass

As part of its Sustainable Travel Plan, to encourage alternatives to travelling to work by car, the University has partnered with Stagecoach to offer staff working at the Streatham and St Luke's Campuses a 10% discount on annual bus travel passes.

Payment will be made from deductions from your salary each month, in 12 equal instalments.

Employees may use the bus pass at any time as long as the majority of use is for travel to/from work.

Please note: You need to re-apply for these permits each year

Weekly, 4-week or 13-week passes

If you do not wish to obtain a Stagecoach annual travel pass, you can also purchase, from the Campus Services Help Desk, Streatham Farm (open Monday - Friday 9am-5pm):

These can be paid by cheque or debit/credit card (American Express/Diners Card not accepted). These discounts are only available when purchasing directly from the University and not from the Stagecoach Travelshop or online.

To apply for a Stagecoach Annual Travel Pass

1. Complete a Bus Pass Application Form.
2. Send your completed form to Campus Servcices Help Desk, Streatham Farm.
3. Your Travel Pass will be sent to you by internal post. Please allow 5 working days.

Please note that you can purchase an Annual Travel Pass at any time of the year, although they must have a start date of the first of a month.

Staff are eligible to obtain a Stagecoach annual travel pass unless your employment with the University will end, whether through retirement or the expiry of a fixed term contract, within 12 months of the start date of the Stagecoach travel pass.

Important information

1. For payroll purposes, an annual travel pass must have a start date of the first of the month; annual travel passes will not be issued with a mid-month start date. Annual means 52 weeks (362 days) for the date of issue.
2. The agreement is for 12 months but you may withdraw from the scheme by giving a minimum of one month's calendar notice in writing to the Campus Services Help Desk, Streatham Farm and return the permit to them. The reduction of your salary will stop once the appropriate refund has been received from Stagecoach for your pass.
3. You must show both your travel pass and your Unicard at the commencement of each journey.
4. If you leave the employment of the University you must return your Travel Pass.  You are no longer eligible to use the Pass and on return of your unicard, it will no longer be valid. Failure to return the pass will mean that the balance of the gross cost of the travel pass will be deducted from your final salary payment, although you will no longer be accepted to travel by Stagecoach.
5. If you lose your pass you are advised to check with the Torquay, Paignton or Exeter Travel Shops, as misplaced tickets are often handed in. Stagecoach terms and conditions state that no refunds will be made and they advise passengers to ensure that their home insurance policy covers loss of season ticket. The University will continue make deductions from your pay.
6. If the ticket is believed stolen, it must be reported to the police and a crime reference number obtained.  You should send this information to Richard Stevens at Stagecoach Devon in order for a replacement to be issued.
7. The prices above are the current prices agreed by Stagecoach for employees of the Universiy of Exeter; Stagecoach reserve the right to amend these from time-to-time. To ensure that you obtain a travel pass at the above rates, you are encouraged to submit your application at the earliest opportunity.
