Alex has been nominated for his incredible support of staff and students in helping them work through challenging pastoral and academic issues. Alex manages student welfare cases on the Penryn Campus, and he always responds calmly, pragmatically and supportively, and can reason with even the most unwell and vulnerable students.

Estate Services, Campus Infrastructure and Operational Support Services

Derek has been nominated for his outstanding work in Estate Services. Derek is the first name on anyone’s lips when technical support is needed for events, midnight breakdowns and a cool head in a crisis, often working long hours into the night, evenings and weekends to ensure a great experience for students, staff and visitors.

Jocelyn has been nominated for her exceptional leadership during the PGCE Ofsted Inspection. Preparing for the inspection required years of dedication, knowledge, attention to detail and constant drive. Jos’s continued enthusiasm and drive for perfection has ensured buy in from all. Jos is the best in the sector at partnership, with a national reputation. She has a real desire to make a difference to the lives of young people is always on hand to help find solutions to problems and to keep us calm.

Patricia has been nominated for her consistent care and kindness to students and staff in the Drama department, and all the important tasks that also help the efficiency of the department. Trish provides outstandingly warm and skilful support and stability for the department; amidst turbulence and change, her practical knowledge and compassionate presence steer our anxious students towards confidence, our prospective students towards joining the department and her overworked colleagues towards hope. She has proved many times that she is the rock on which the Drama department stands.

Spencer has been nominated for his heroic effort and commitment to keep the Biosciences and LSI Stores operating under challenging circumstances this year. He has been described as a true hero across the Technical Services Team and both the research and teaching communities throughout our campuses for delivering a steady, focused and excellent customer service during a very challenging and changing year within the scientific stores.
