Handling Challenging Conversations

Description

Theme:

Leadership & Management.

Category:

Management Know-How.

Please note that this session was previously called: Making Conversations Count.

About this course:

Some of the conversations we have at work can be much more difficult than others.

They might cover sensitive or emotional topics, like addressing under-performance or dealing with behavioural conduct issues.

Moreover, having conversations with colleagues who are `flying high' or appear to be stuck on a `plateau' can also be tricky.

These sorts of difficult conversations require planning, sensitivity and clarity in order to achieve the best possible outcome for everyone.

This course will help give confidence in delivering difficult messages, as well as setting the direction of critical conversations.

You may decide to take this course after completing 'Managing Performance & Absence'.

If not, please note that this course WILL NOT cover any University policies or procedures.
