About this course:

Promoting an environment where diverse cultures are made to feel welcome will help us maintain our position as one of the world's leading academic and research institutions.

We all have a part to play in creating an environment that is welcoming to all students, visitors and colleagues, and this workshop will help you learn the skills and tactics to convert potentially troublesome situations into positive outcomes.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:.

- Understand the importance of cultural awareness.

- Outline how you can use practical approaches in your own role.

- Appreciate the impact you have on others.

- Assertively manage negative or disrespectful behaviour.

Who should attend this course:

All staff who want to improve how they interact with colleagues, students or customers from different background and cultures from their own.

Penryn staff are asked to add their name to the waiting list.

Once we have enough delegates to fill a course we will contact staff about possible dates.
