About this course:

Part of the ILM Level 2 Award in Leadership & Team Skills, this workshop is designed to give you a firm foundation in the skills and understanding needed to supervise and lead a team.

This workshop examines organisational objectives and how you can set SMART targets to aid effective planning and monitoring of the team's work.

Completion of this workshop gives you sufficient learning to undertake a written assessment towards the ILM Level 2 Award.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:.

- Identify organisational policies that can have an effect on the planning and allocation of work.

- Give an example of a target or objective that a team is working to achieve.

- List the key stages when planning and allocating work and describe how work is allocated to meet team objectives.

- Describe how to check that team members understand their allocated work and a method to monitor the team's performance against the plan.

- Descrive an action the team leader could take to rectify underachievement against the plan.

Who should attend this course:

All staff who manage other people, typically with 1-3 years of experience.

Delegates may have had some, little or no previous management development.
