IIB Essentials: Pathways to impact in UKRI Grant applications

Personal Effectiveness

Professional Knowledge and Business Skills

About this course:

All applicants for grants from the UK Research Councils are required to write an impact summary and a `Pathways to Impact? document as part of their bid.

The impact summary is very brief (4,000 characters) and should answer the questions, who will benefit from this research? and how will they benefit from this research? The Pathways to Impact should set out what you plan to do to enable and optimise that benefit and should, in the words of one Research Council, "be viewed as an opportunity for researchers to consider thoroughly what you will do and how you will act to enable your research to connect with others and make a difference".

This session will help you to think about how to make the most of this part of your application.
