ASPIRE Writing Retreat

Description

About this course:

This Writing Retreat provides a quiet, collaborative space and an informal opportunity to spend time away from the office making progress on your ASPIRE/HEA Fellowship application.

It is a chance to engage with the education literature and discuss your application with ASPIRE Professional Recognition Pathway Mentors and the Academic Development team, as well as others in the process of completing their own applications.

You can make best use of support on the day by bringing along a draft of your application and any other preparatory work you have done in advance of the session.

By the end of the session, you should have a good draft of your application, and be well-placed to move towards submitting your application and references to an ASPIRE PRP Assessment Panel.

The session follows a flexible format catering to the needs of those attending.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this session, you will be able to:.

- Further map the evidence in your application to the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) and relevant Fellowship Descriptor.

- Incorporate education literature into your application and discuss how it relates to your professional practice.

- Continue to draft your Fellowship application.

- Discuss your application with ASPIRE PRP Mentors and the Academic Development team, if you would like to, and to engage with the academic practice literature.

Who should attend this course? The Writing Retreats are open to all academic and Professional Services colleagues with a role in teaching and supporting learning.

If you have not already done so, attending an ASPIRE Guidance Session is strongly recommended before participating in a Writing Retreat.
