About this course:

For anyone who is new to learning and teaching at Exeter, this session offers an opportunity to explore the knowledge, understanding, skills and values needed to enable students to learn effectively in the Exeter HE environment.

It is an active session, modelling a variety of teaching methods and is designed for people teaching now or who will be teaching soon.

Prospective participants will be contacted a week in advance of the workshop with recommended preparation.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you should be able to: - Interpret, modify and formulate own Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) - Constructively align teaching and assessment methods to learning outcomes - Identify, modify and evaluate teaching and assessment methods for active learning - Identify and evaluate approaches to small and large group learning and teaching at university - Define and apply questioning techniques for teaching of skills and concepts - Examine universal issues related to learning and teaching, and possible solutions to them
