About this course:

Being able to maintain an accurate operating budget is indispensable in the research arena.

This seminar will give participants the chance to work in groups to construct an actual operating budget and consider the things to do to ensure you are keeping accurate records.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:.

- Accurately develop an operating research budget based on forecasted income and costs.

- Prepare a well-planned budget that clearly highlights crucial variables that impact your resources.

- Develop high-level and alternative strategies to help your budget reach specific goals.

- Define variances so you can quickly implement changes to meet your financial objectives.

- Develop and present a well-thought-out budget that will get `buy-in? and funding.

- Effectively use your budget to provide strategic direction and a blueprint for the upcoming year.
