About this course:

The Health and Safety Training Day is part of the mandatory induction.

It covers specialist training for Control of Substances Hazardous to Health in Research (CoSHH) and Radiation Protection.

This session is for researchers who will be involved in CoSHH risk assessment, or who will be using ionising radiation or lasers in classes 3 or 4.

If you are unsure if you need to attend these sessions, please contact your supervisor for confirmation.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:.

- Understand and identify hazards.

- Understand key legislation and how it impacts on you as a researcher.

- Know where to find more information.

- Plan and take necessary precautions.

- Complete risk assessments as required.

- Reduce risk.

This course is recommended for Research Staff.
