Further support and guidance

Learning sets

You can join a ‘learning set’ – small groups of up to seven people – where you will be able to discuss any issues related to change at the University of Exeter.  The learning set will meet for about 2 hours and focus on practical problem solving.  If you are interested in joining a learning set, please email sld@exeter.ac.uk with a brief description of the issues you would like to be discussed. Groups will be arranged once a number of people have expressed interest.

Change management for managers

This half day course will cover

  • Dealing with change as a middle manager; impact of change on oneself and how to support others.
  • A systems view of change

The coaching network

1:1 support is available through a new internal coaching network.  Members of the network are drawn from across Professional Services (currently) and offer informal 'coaching conversations' for staff who feel they can benefit from the experience.  The informal coaching relationship lasts for around three months with regular meetings negotiated between the coach and staff member.

Requests for coaching are handled through Staff Learning and Development and can come from either the staff member of their line manager (with the staff member's agreement).
