Community Challenge Opportunities
Many community organisations have very limited resources so you should be prepared to work closely with a named individual in the organisation to plan and manage your time with them.
Examples of the sort of work undertaken
- Organising a party, outing or event for a community group
- Clearing up community allotments/gardens or working with environmental charities on a range of events
- Decorating community centres, hostels, offices and other community based premises
- Working in school grounds (eg with Parent Teacher Associations) on a range of one-off projects.
Community Action is the student volunteering organisation within the Student Guild in Exeter and is keen to support staff volunteering. We may even be able to volunteer on joint projects with their students.
FXU is the representative body for students of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter (Penryn). See the FXU volunteering website for opportunities.
Community Liaison Officer
Rory Cunningham is the Community Liaison Officer for the University. He works with residents living in communities surrounding the Streatham and St Luke’s campuses. Rory may be able to assist you with ideas for volunteering in these localities.
