The University is committed to providing policies and arrangements which promote and support work-life balance for its employees.  The University recognises that some employees may wish to increase their annual leave entitlement for personal reasons such as a special occasion or an extended overseas holiday or to take additional holiday during school holidays for childcare.  The Policy on the Purchase of Additional Leave will provide a facility for staff in Professional Services roles to purchase additional leave to fulfill these personal obligations and to support the wellbeing of staff by providing a mechanism to manage personal commitments in a planned way.  The Policy will allow staff to spread the cost over a full year.

The next window of opportunity to apply for the Purchase of Annual leave will be from 1 November 2018 - 30 November 2018.  Applications made during this period will be for purchasing leave from 1January 2019 - 31 December 2019.  Please note that a maximum of 10 days/73.0 hours (pro rata) can be purchased to use during this period.  Please note that there will only be one window of opportunity to purchase leave for 2019.
