Managing staff who are leaving

You may be required to manage the leaving of a member of staff during your time as a manager, possibly to retire after a long career with the University, or they may resign from their role to move on to new opportunities. Whatever the circumstances, it is important for yourself, the person leaving, and the remaining team members that the leaving period is handled well and the correct procedures followed.
