Applying for ordinary paternity/maternity support leave
To qualify for paid ordinary paternity/maternity support leave you must:
- inform your Human Resources Business Partner in writing, using form PD76, with a copy to your College Dean, by the 15th week before the expected week of childbirth or no later than seven days after the date on which notification was received from the adoption agency of the match with the child
- inform your Human Resources Business Partner when the baby has been born or, in the case of adoption, when the child’s placement has commenced for your entitlement to SPP to begin
If you requested and have agreed a different arrangement with your College Dean you should also enclose, in writing, details of your ordinary paternity/maternity support leave signed by both you and your College Dean when returning your completed PD76 to your Human Resources Business Partner.
You will be able to change your mind about the date you want your leave to start, providing you inform your Human Resources Business Partner, in writing, at least 28 days in advance.
