Support staff

A College Dean/Head of Service may apply for the grading of a support post to be reviewed under the HERA job evaluation scheme, as applied by the University.

A postholder may submit a personal application for regrading, without the support of their College/Service, where they are able to show a significant change in duties and responsibilities since their appointment or since the grade of the post was last reviewed (whichever is the later). Personal applications will only be considered where a minimum period of twelve months has passed since appointment or last grading review and/or there has been a demonstrable significant change in duties and responsibilities.

Where the submission for regrading is approved, the regrading will take effect on the first day of the month following receipt of the submission in Human Resources. If the College/Service or the individual is not satisfied with the outcome of the grading review, they may appeal in accordance with procedures agreed by the University (following consultation with trade union representatives).
