Homeworking
Purpose
The purpose of these guidelines and standards is to ensure that, where homeworking is approved, whether on an ad hoc or extended/long-term basis:
- homeworking is only agreed where appropriate
- such homeworking arrangements are effectively managed
- risks relating to health and safety, data security and confidentiality are appropriately addressed
- managers ensure that employees who do work at home are fully aware of their responsibilities
Please note These guidelines only apply to Professional Services staff in Colleges and central Professional Services.
Policy statement
The University encourages homeworking in agreed circumstances where this will benefit the operation of its services, recognising the positive contribution this can have on its employees, the University's carbon footprint and reduced pressure on the University's physical infrastructure.
