Pension Scheme
The Temporary Worker will be eligible to opt-in to the University of Exeter Retirement Benefits Scheme (ERBS), in accordance with the rules of ERBS which may be amended from time to time, provided the Temporary Worker meets the following criteria:
- is between the ages of 18 and 74;
- is not contributing already to ERBS or USS;
- is not already in receipt of an ERBS or USS pension;
- is earning above the lower threshold for National Insurance Contributions;
- has been working for the University for 12 consecutive weeks.
Once the Temporary Worker has joined ERBS they will remain a member of the scheme, contributing for each period of work, until either a period of 12 months elapses since they last contributed (ie worked for the University) or they leave the Scheme. The Temporary Worker will contribute 6.25% (which may be amended from time to time) of their gross remuneration. To opt-in to ERBS the Temporary Worker should contact the Pension Office. If the Temporary Worker is eligible for membership, then membership will take effect in the calendar month following completion of the application documentation.
