These annual celebrations are open to staff, students and the public.

Exeter Reclaim The Night March

On Sunday 13th March 2011, Exeter held a Reclaim The Night march. The march started in Bedford Square, went down the High Street and finished at the Phoenix Centre for speeches and music. The march was very well attended and was covered by the local media.

Reclaim the Night marches challenge the fact that most women do not feel safe to walk alone at night. They are organised under the belief that women should be able to walk anywhere without feeling restricted because of male violence. They also challenge the shockingly low national rape conviction rate.
