"I am delighted to announce the Professional Services Recognition Awards (PSRAs). These awards are a fantastic opportunity for us to recognise the outstanding achievements of our Professional Services Staff, which are central to the University’s success. Please talk to your teams about the awards and encourage them to nominate people they feel have made an outstanding contribution in the past year."
David Allen

The awards are for staff but nominations can come from staff or students.
Principles of the awards - employee involvement
The awards are for staff and nominations can come from staff or students. A team of representatives from across Professional Services have designed and will manage the award scheme. The committee this year consists of: Tash Khan-Davis (Chair), Kathryn Coombes, Sophie Hewitt, Stephen Mossop, Jilly Court, Emma Reeve, Barbara Powell, Laura Hames and Esme Perkin.
A new way of recognising outstanding achievement
The University recognises the contribution of its staff in a number of different ways. At operational level, managers will thank and acknowledge informally the contribution of their staff.
At University level, the University Bonus recognises the contribution which all staff have made towards the achievement of the University's corporate goals. The Merit Award scheme allows College and Professional Service Management Teams to recognise financially exceptional high performance by individuals and teams.
The Recognition Scheme for Professional Services staff complements these existing methods of recognition. Unlike the Merit Award scheme, where decisions are taken by managers assessing excellent performance towards the achievement of the goals and plans of their College or Professional Service, the Recognition Scheme invites all members of the University - staff and students - to nominate someone who has made a positive contribution to the University during the last calendar year, measured against the 7 PSRA Categories which will be judged.
“It feels great to be appreciated and to have received an award as official recognition of our hard work ... the impact on the team has been wonderfully positive; we are all pleased to have received an award as official recognition of our hard work. It has put a spring in our steps and smiles on our faces.”
Janet Sandy, University of Exeter Library
