The People work stream reviewed clear and consistent HR strategies, policies and practices to help people work in a more flexible way; and support managers with staff who may be working flexibly.

Work stream outputs

The People work stream has developed a revised policy and guidance on flexible working which is now available online, in the flexible working toolkit.  All management teams received a presentation on the nature of the changes and how they can be used to balance business need and service provision, with that of staff choice of work pattern. The toolkit is designed to support managers and staff to understand flexible working arrangements and encourage consistency across the University. It includes new guidance on homeworking, compressed hours and job sharing, as well as good practice examples of flexible working. The University’s flexitime arrangements have been revised and new arrangements for a standard University scheme are in place.

An annual report into flexible working at the University will be collated each February.
