Working with external partners such as companies and government bodies can be a great way to improve the impact of your work, obtain funding, develop new research material and build links. This session will cover 2 mechanisms for working with external organisations; Contract Research and Consultancy. Come along to hear about how to get involved in this kind of work, the support available and some case studies of successful projects.
Learning outcomes: As a result of attending this course, you will be able to: - Understand some of the benefits of working with external organisations. - Understand the difference between Contract Research and Consultancy and when each is an appropriate model to use. - Know who to contact to support you with developing projects in this area. - Understand what makes a successful project.
Who should attend this course: Academics staff (Postdoctoral researchers should have at least 3 years worth of research experience) applying for funding from industry/government sources.
