Manager's Guidance for Post-COVID Work Arrangements: Skills for Supportive Conversations
Description | Theme: Leadership & Management Category: People Management About this course: As more colleagues prepare for a return to campus working and/or a more permanent hybrid arrangement, it's important that managers feel equipped to guide and support their staff through this transition period and beyond. Discussions and decisions about working arrangements will be informed by strategic priorities and business needs of the university, whilst continuing to balance this with the health and wellbeing of staff. People managers will play a critical role in supporting the needs of their team members and the university - all of which will require you to handle a range of scenarios in a supportive and constructive manner. This session will predominately focus on the skills and behaviours required for having supportive conversations with staff about their working arrangements, which could include a return to campus, a hybrid arrangement or a continuation of home working. You will also learn where you can access further guidance, as well as the teams that can offer support in the process if required, eg, HR, Health & Safety, Occupational Health. Whilst there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, you will get the most from the session if you have familiarised yourself with the HR guidance, issued in the calendar invite, prior to attending. . This session is being run as a webinar. . A week prior to the session you will be sent a calendar invitation including the link to the webinar.
