Occupational Health New Starter Health Assessment

All new appointments with the University are made subject to a satisfactory health assessment.

The assessment is carried out by a questionnaire (PD31 New Starter Form), which may be followed up by a health check, to ensure the fitness of the person for a given role.

Pre-employment assessment is to ensure as far as reasonably practicable that the applicant is fit for the job without a significantly increased risk to their own or others health and safety.

All questionnaires and other relevant information are confidential to the Occupational Health Service.

If you are a new employee and have health and wellbeing needs at work you can contact the Disability Adviser.  They can provide specialist guidance and advice to you and your manager to ensure that you are able to maintain your health and wellbeing and your performance at work.

The Occupational Health and Wellbeing websites can provide you with information and advice on services and health programmes available to all University of Exeter employees.
