The elements of a Health & Safety Management SystemHealth and Safety Policy and management
Our health and safety policy is perhaps our most important health and safety document. It shows our staff, students (and everybody who reads it), our commitment to health and safety. It sets out our general approach and objectives (our vision) and the arrangements we have put in place for managing health and safety. It describes how we will identify hazards, assess risks and implement and monitor our health and safety controls.
The document has legal status and is co-signed by the University’s Vice Chancellor and Registrar & Secretary, who jointly have ultimate responsibility for the health and safety of all on campus.
