Relationships of your staff with yourself and others means:
- promoting positive team working to avoid conflict and dealing with unacceptable behaviour
Situation that may lead to stress
Your staff may become stressed if they feel that they are being bullied, harassed or disciplined, resulting in poor working relationships. Also if they feel that there is a lack of recognition or reward for the work that they do or they feel that that are being treated unfairly.
What can be done to reduce stress
The University’s policies and procedures in place to handle staff’s grievances, absence, misconduct, bullying and harassment and equality and diversity, in a fair and equitable manner and should be fully utilised as soon as you become aware of any issues. You and you staff can also discuss this more formally during their Performance Development Review (PDR)
The ideal situation
Your staff are not subjected to any unacceptable behaviours, eg bullying at work, harassment or with inequality. If they are, then there are systems are in place to respond to any individual concerns.
