I have been a Holistic Therapist for over ten years and working in collaboration with the University, delivering massage sessions since 2009. I specialise in Swedish Massage, Neck, Back and Shoulder Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and Pregnancy Massage.
My sessions can be tailored to meet an individual’s requirements - whether you require an oasis of calm or a stress releasing therapy treatment at the end of a long day (or week!).
My routines have been developed to provide mental relaxation and to target body areas prone to stress and strain. If you spend a lot of time on your feet, behind a computer or give presentations, I’m sure I can develop a therapy routine to suit you.
With my passion to help raise awareness of the importance of posture, I am now training to become a Pilates instructor. I will be offering basic Pilates 1 to 1 and in small groups (maximum of four people).

"I have been Rebecca's client for nearly a year now. As an academic who spends long hours in front of the computer, I suffer from severe shoulder and back problems. The massage sessions with Rebecca offer immense relief and have been vital as a tool for managing my shoulder pain. They are also a great stress-buster and I always come away feeling happier with the world!" Senior Lecturer
"Rebecca is a very skilled reflexologist - I initially went to see her just to relax but the treatment has also helped me with a particular health problem (as well as being relaxing!). She will tailor and personalise treatments to suit individual needs which is really helpful. She is also very friendly and down to earth. Being able to see a complementary therapist so close to my office saves me a lot of time, and costs less than seeing a therapist in other settings, so it's great that the University of Exeter facilitates access to this on campus." I have been a practitioner since 2005, helping people to address a wide variety of ailments or simply ‘de-stress’ and feel better. I am a former teacher and copy editor and did admin work here at the University before training in complementary healthcare, in part to learn how to keep my own health in balance through natural means. I have diplomas in natural medicine, anatomy & physiology, and reflexology; 3 years’ training in shiatsu bodywork, facial & body diagnosis, and macrobiotic nutrition & cooking; and a six-month foundation in core process (awareness-based) psychotherapy. I have also studied plant medicine and grow or gather a wide variety of medicinal plants for home use.
My practice is based on three things I consider essential to maintaining or improving health: skilled touch to aid awareness and release; an understanding of how thoughts, emotions and diet affect the body; and contact with the natural world. Also important is reducing any fear or ‘disconnect’ around illness. I am interested in how health histories and life histories intertwine, and my aims are for people to feel good in their bodies, reclaim any parts ‘lost’ to pain, trauma or simple neglect, and enjoy having greater control over their health.
