Benefits and discounts
On joining the Staff Association, members automatically have access to a number of discounts with local businesses and high street retailers. Please note that the University does not endorse any of the companies offering discounts.
On Campus discounts (Exeter)
- Campus Cinema is the University of Exeter's only film society, and also the cheapest cinema in Exeter! Entrance to all of the screenings for the rest of the term and being offered to Staff Association members at the discounted rate of £1.50 per person (non members pay £3). Just turn up at the M&D Room in Devonshire House, Streatham Campus with your Staff Association card 15 minutes before the screening starts to purchase your tickets. Screenings are either Tuesday or Thursday (starting at 18:30 and at 21:00).
- The Homeopathy Clinic (based on Streatham Campus) are offering discounts to Staff Association members.
- Reed Hall (Streatham Campus) are offering Staff Association members a free cup of Americano coffee or a cup of tea with every main meal from Monday to Friday as of 5th April 2012 until the end of the academic year. Members will need to show both their staff card and their Staff Association card when paying in order to be eligible for the offer.
- La Touche (Streatham Campus) are offering a 20% discount on main meals every Wednesday after 13:00 from Wednesday 7th March until the end of the academic year. Drinks are not included in the offer. Members will need to show both their staff card and their Staff Association card when paying in order to be eligible for the offer.
We will be looking at introducing offers at all of our campuses in the future. If you have any recommendations expecially at the St Luke's and Tremough campuses then please let us know.
Online retail discounts
Edenred, an online discount provider offer members a variety of high street retail discounts such as 5% off petrol and grocery shopping. Once you have budgeted for paying your membership fee you should still be saving money! Further information can be found on the Exeter Rewards Leaflet and the FAQ's - Edenred. Once you have joined the Association and have been given your log in details you can start shopping straight away, you will also be able to view some of the exciting January 2012 offers.
As you are unable to view the discounts online without joining the Staff Association we have provided some information on Exeter rewards_ reloadable cards and shopping vouchers as well as Exeter rewards_phone discounts_search which gives you information on telephone discounts and different ways of searching for discounts which we hope you will find useful.
Northcott Theatre (Streatham Campus)
Members of the University of Exeter’s Staff Association are entitled to claim the published Concessions rate (where offered on specific productions: to see if a concession is available you need to find the production that you want to see and check the Ticketing Info page to see if there is a concession rate available.) You may book over the phone or in person at the box office but you will need to show your membership card and University card on collection of the tickets. This discount is not available for online bookings.
The Performance Centre (Tremough Campus)
Members of the Staff Association can purchase books of 10 ticket vouchers for £50, which is a 50% reduction on face value. An additional voucher for The Poly is included. Additional benefits
Fancy a Holiday Let in Cornwall - a 15% discount if being offered to Staff Association Members.
Need a hair cut? Viva Hair on Fore Street, Exeter, is offering Staff Association members a 10% discount on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Exeter's newest knitting shop, Heavenly Yarns sell a wide range of yarns, run classes, host sit and stitch groups and support local charities. They are offering Staff Association members a 10% discount.
Benefits currently on offer to all staff can be found on the University benefits pages. A recently added discount is the Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 for £8.95 including VAT to use at home.
Forthcoming discounts
Working with the Guild of Students we are hoping to obtain discounts at a variety of local stores. In order to obtain the discounts you will need to show your University Card alongside your Staff Association membership card. Once these have been confirmed they will be advertised on this page.
