Community Garden Project

The Exeter Community Garden is a new Community Association which is set up in a field past the Sports Park and Innovation Centre to produce food and exchange skills. So far it will consist of raised beds, bees and cider apple trees. In the longer term we will be looking to sell the produce on campus and incorporate the produce into catering at the Guild e.g. use vegetables grown on site in Coffee Express. Importantly, we aim to set up workshops for members to learn skills in food production and conservation. There's such a wealth of passion and experience from the Grounds Team here for the local environment - we need to make that accessible to everyone around Exeter, whether a student, staff or resident. We'll also utilise expertise to deliver talks on key issues around sustainability.

A great deal of progress has already been made. Fencing, gate and raised beds are being installed. The project now needs work teams to make the fencing rabbit safe, start planting and other general jobs.
