Staff Choir
A choir made up of staff (current and retired) and post graduate students formed in November 2011 to lead the congregation at the Christmas by Candlelight ecumenical service held in the Mary Harris Memorial Chapel (University Chapel, Streatham Campus) on 20th December.
Such was the success of the choir at the carol service and the choir’s enjoyment of singing with colleagues (many were new to each other), that they sought another excuse to sing together the following term…
On Monday 2nd April the choir performed the beautiful Faure Requiem under the baton of alumnus and local conductor, Laurence Blyth. Interspersed with reflections for the coming of Easter, the performance was incredibly moving with members of the audience mesmerised by the choir's singing, in particular the Libera me and In Paradisum.
The choir are currently finalising plans for this term's project, likely to be a lunchtime concert to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

In additon, the Lazenby Chaplain, Clifton Graham would be thrilled to hear from any staff colleagues who might be interested in singing for a couple of Evensongs in our wonderful Grade 2 listed Chapel throughout the vacation periods.
Please contact Clifton Graham to discuss this further.
"As a retired member of staff, it was a great pleasure to participate in a group which included such a wide range of members of the University community."
