Overview

We want the University to continue to be a great place to work. A positive working environment is a happy, healthy environment where your wellbeing is good, you are productive and you enjoy working. The Positive Working Environment programme is in place to listen to you and respond with meaningful action. At this years' Staff Festival we aimed to provide the opportunties to engage with activities, workshops, seminars and stalls from each domain of the strategy shown below.

Stalls, activities and workshops will be based around the Forum at Streatham and the Sports Centre at St Luke's. As the festival is across both campuses, there will be transport available every 15-20 mins.

Professor Sir Steve Smith, BSc MSc PhD (Soton), The Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive:

"The Staff Festival is an important opportunity for us to get away from our desks to socialise, learn, and participate in the activities on offer, as well as to celebrate all the things that make the University a great place to work. It’s also a chance for us all to acknowledge that the University simply could not achieve what it achieves without the dedication of our fantastic staff."

J VC 150Jacqui Marshall, Deputy Registrar & Director of People Services and Global Partnerships:

‌"It’s really important for us all to take some time out to focus on wellbeing. The Staff Festival is a great opportunity for this and I would really encourage everyone to get involved."

Mike Shore-nyeMike Shore-Nye, Registrar and Secretary:

"Take some time out to think about wellbeing for us as individuals and across the whole organisation."

Below is our 6-point strategy. Each event at the Staff Festival this year pertains to one of these domains to ensure we are doing the best to benefit your wellbeing.
