School Governors Group

Are you a current school governor and would like to get to know other governors, share experiences or bounce ideas?

Are you interested in finding out what a school governor is? Then why not come along to the free lunch meetings on campus with other fellow staff?

No membership or registration required – just turn up.

The purpose of this open group is to provide a forum for staff who volunteer in the community as school governors (or directors in academies) to:

•    meet other school governors;
•    share experiences with other volunteers;
•    bounce ideas with colleagues;
•    celebrate volunteering.

Whether you are an experienced or new volunteer, or just want to find out about schools governors, all are welcome and it is an informal gathering with no specific agenda.
The group usually meets every half term on the Exeter campuses over lunch time in order to enable as many staff to attend. It is a flexible arrangement to fit your needs so you can pop in at any time, leave early or arrive late. Also, feel free to bring your lunch if you want.
